The City Council offers a Public Speaking and Debate Workshop by the world champion in the field, Alberto García, from Málaga.

On Saturday, March 22, from 09:00 to 14:00 hours, at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center, with free registration, until full capacity is reached.

The City Council of Estepona informs that the municipal delegation of Youth has organized the workshop on public speaking and debate “Learning to communicate effectively’, which will be held next Saturday, March 22, from 09:00 to 14:00 hours, at the Cultural Center Mirador del Carmen.

This course in effective communication will have as a speaker the young Malaga Alberto Garcia, world champion in public speaking. The objective is to learn to use our whole body as a communicative tool, from body language to the projection of emotions. Thus, the program focuses on nerve management, speech preparation and knowledge of useful strategies for persuasion.

Participants can acquire skills to prepare to overcome their fears and enhance skills to take their communication to the next level.

The activity consists of five hours of training, divided into two blocks in which theoretical and practical tips will be presented to improve the effective communication of the attendees. There will be a first theoretical part in which the elements of communication and the characteristics of communication in the 21st century will be discussed in depth; nerve management: how to prepare a speech at key moments; types of language: verbal, non-verbal and paraverbal language (the structure of speech and argumentation; the analysis of non-verbal language, the practice of paraverbal language); and speech analysis: how to analyze persuasion in a speech; and speech analysis: how to analyze persuasion in a speech. During the practical part, a group dynamic will be carried out where participants will put into practice what they have learned in the theoretical part, and constructive feedback will be given to attendees at the end of the activity.

Communication has gone from being a complement to our professional career to become an essential skill for development in the labor and personal world.

Alberto García Chaparro, co-founder of Comunícate, has extensive experience in the field of communication and debate. He has been a communications advisor in the Spanish Senate and currently works as a trainer in various educational centers and universities throughout Spain.

Born in Malaga, he has been the best legal speaker in Spain, national debate champion on numerous occasions and, recently, world champion in public speaking at the prestigious international competition held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 2024.
