Nearly fifty establishments participate this weekend in the XV Ruta de la Tapa ‘Saborea Estepona’ (Taste Estepona Tapa Route)

People who vote for the best tapa will be eligible for almost fifty prizes. On the other hand, the City Council will distribute 3,500 euros among the establishments with the tapas most valued by citizens and a professional jury.
Estepona City Council reports that a total of 46 establishments in the city will participate this weekend in the XV Ruta de la Tapa ‘Taste Estepona’.
The councilor attached to the area of Culture and Festivals, Macarena Diánez, thanked all the local, both in the town center and the suburbs, who have joined this gastronomic initiative that will take place from Friday until Sunday.
The XV Ruta de la Tapa, which is included as an activity within the event ‘Estepona lives its streets’, is an opportunity to meet the culinary creations of nearly fifty restaurants and bars in the municipality.
As usual, citizens who taste these tapas can vote for the one they like best. To do this, they have to pick up the Passport of the Ruta de la Tapa at the Tourist Office in the Plaza de Las Flores, in the mayor’s office of Cancelada or in any of the participating establishments.
When ordering the tapa and drink, those interested will have to ask for the passport to be stamped. To participate in the voting, they must have at least three stamps from different establishments participating in the Ruta de la Tapa. The passport must be duly completed and deposited at the Tourist Office in the Plaza de Las Flores or in the mayor’s office of Cancelada. The deadline to do so is April 21.
The tapa + drink (beer, soft drink or water) will be priced at 3.50 euros, while the tapa + wine will be 4.50 euros. The schedule established for the Ruta de la Tapa is as follows: Friday, April 17, from 20.00 to 23.00 hours, Saturday, April 18, from 13.00 to 16.00 hours and from 20.00 to 23.00 hours, and Sunday, April 19, from 13.00 to 16.00 hours.
The City Council will raffle fifty gifts among those who participate in the voting. Among the prizes, include a night in a hotel in Andalusia for two people with breakfast included, 4 Thalasso SPA packs for two people, 1 SPA circuit and lunch for two people, 1 paddle surf board, 1 Iberian ham, fruit baskets, small appliances, tickets for various shows in the Auditorium Felipe VI, 1 catamaran ride or drinks worth 50 euros in participating establishments.
On the other hand, the Consistory will distribute 3,500 euros in prizes to the establishments with the best tapas. The restaurants and bars will compete for three prizes of 1,000, 500 and 250 euros in the categories; best tapa chosen by customers and best tapa chosen by a professional jury.
