Former minister Manuel Pimentel will address the challenges and changes facing today’s societies at a conference in Estepona.

Estepona City Council informs that Manuel Pimentel will offer a conference in Estepona next Thursday, June 5. In it, the former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, will address the challenges and changes facing today’s societies from food to the economy.
Manuel Pimentel was Secretary General of Employment and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs between 1999 and 2000 during the government of José María Aznar. After leaving politics, he became the creator and editor of Grupo Almuzara. Among other activities, he also presents since 2011 the television program Arqueomanía, about archeology, which is broadcasted on La 2.
The conference will be held at the Library of Contemporary Cultures of Estepona at 8:00 pm. Access is free with prior registration by emailing bcc@estepona.es.
The Library of Contemporary Cultures, located on eight floors of the Mirador del Carmen, was inaugurated on November 21 with a program of events featuring names such as the filmmaker and former Minister of Culture, Ángeles González Sinde, the director general of the Botín Foundation, Íñigo Sáenz de Miera, the poets Antonio Lucas and Ben Clark and the musician Alejandro Pelayo (Marlango). The event brought together close to 600 people.
Since then it has become a cross-cutting space for the generation of cultural, informative and creative activities.
