The City Council celebrates the Night of San Juan with the contest of Quemas, the concert of Rasel and Sara de ‘Las Chuches’ and a magical market.

The party will be on the beach of La Rada and will start at 21:00 hours with a DJ’s session, the concert of Rasel and Sara de ‘Las Chuches’, and the XLV Contest ‘Burning of the Moustaches of San Juan”. For its part, the magic market will be held on the promenade from 20 to 23 June.
The City Council of Estepona informs that next Monday June 23, eve of San Juan, will be held the traditional “Fiesta de la Noche de San Juan” 2025 on the beach of La Rada, at the height of Correos.
The night of San Juan will begin at 21:00 hours with performances by DJ’s Monchi, Poyito and FSC, to continue at 22:00 hours with a concert by singer RASEL, and SARA (former member of the group ‘LAS CHUCHES’).
From 21:00 hours will begin the XLV Contest “Burning of the Whiskers of San Juan”, with the jury’s tour of the burning participants. All of them will be located at the height of the monument to La Peseta.
Associations and neighbors build the well-known ‘juás’, dolls and figures made of rags and other materials, which express criticism or mockery towards well-known characters, and which are destined to be burned in the bonfire. The contest organized by the City Council will recognize the originality, atmosphere and popularity of the participating burnings, with prizes of 1,000, 750 and 500 euros for the first three winners, as well as three runners-up prizes of 300 euros.
The “juás” will be set on fire at 00:00 hours, at the beginning of the Night of San Juan, when following an ancient custom, the Esteponeros gather on the beach to get their feet wet. And according to tradition, touching the sea water on the night of San Juan attracts fortune throughout the year, and banishes bad omens.
Magic market
Coinciding with the festivities of San Juan, the City Council has organized a magic market that will be located on the promenade from Friday June 20 until Monday June 23.
This market will revolve around magic and will have a decoration and ambience according to the theme. In total there will be 29 stalls where we can find crafts, children’s attractions, play areas, food, falconry exhibitions and merchandise.
The market will open from 6 p.m. and will be located between the monument to the peseta and the Central Beach beach bar.
This market contributes to the promotion of craft activity while it is an attraction for the city in these days and coinciding, in turn, with the program and activities to be developed on the occasion of the celebration of the Night of San Juan.
