The IX Bienal de Arte Flamenco de Málaga visits the Felipe VI Auditorium in Estepona with the show ‘Viaje al centro de mí mismo’, by the guitarist from Málaga Francisco Vinuesa

The artist will perform in Estepona on July 18 accompanied on vocals by El Bola, Canito and Dani Bonilla; and El Claqueta, on percussion. A cast of guest artists will participate, such as Rocío Molina (National Dance Award), Manuel Liñán, Alfonso Losa and El Remache.

The City Council of Estepona informs that the Felipe VI Auditorium will host next July 18, at 21:30 pm, the show ‘Journey to the center of myself’ by guitarist Francisco Vinuesa. It will be in the framework of the IX Biennial of Flamenco Art Malaga, an event promoted by the Diputación de Málaga, through Turismo Costa del Sol, with the collaboration of the Consistory.

The Councillor for Culture, Esperanza Macarena Diánez, the Vice President of Culture of the Provincial Council, Manuel López Mestanza, and Francisco Vinuesa himself, presented the show today in Estepona.

The guitarist from Malaga Francisco Vinuesa invites us to his exciting inner epic, to the very center of his creations, aboard his six-stringed ship and an unbeatable group of sailors of lights (and shadows), in the form of great dancers, who will make him meet again with the brilliant guitarist that he is said to be and, above all, with himself: a performer who always sails, humble and proud, in search of a golden artistic chimera.

Vinuesa will be accompanied by a cast of extraordinary guest artists of the stature of dancers Rocío Molina (National Dance Award), Manuel Liñán, Alfonso Losa and El Remache de Málaga, and singers Antonio Luque Cortés ‘Canito’, Ismael de la Rosa ‘El Bola’ and Dani Bonilla, with Javier Teruel ‘El Claqueta’ on percussion. Francisco Vinuesa was born in Malaga in 1985. At the age of 9 he took up the flamenco guitar and began his training with the prestigious maestro Pedro Blanco. He travels around the tablaos of Malaga, highlighting his time at ‘Los Tarantos’ and ‘Donde María’, as well as other tablaos nationwide, such as ‘Casa Patas’, ‘Villa Rosa’, ‘Las Carboneras’ and ‘Corral de la Morería’.

As a guitarist, he has accompanied dancers and singers of the stature of Manuel Liñán, María Juncal, Rafael de Utrera, Lucía ‘La Piñona’, Rocío Molina, Esperanza Fernández, Rocío Márquez, the Repompa family, Alfonso Losa, Adrián Santana, Carrete de Málaga, Trinidad Santiago and Patricia Guerrero. He has also composed and collaborated in the music of several shows, such as ‘Roble’ (Guadalupe Torres), ‘Nómada’ (Manuel Liñán), ‘No pausa’ (Daniel Doña), or ‘Injundia Flamenca’ (Sergio Aranda).

He was a candidate for nominations for the 2016 Max Awards for Best Musical Composition for Scenic Spaces for ‘Medea’ (InduoTeatro), Max Audience Award 2020 for ‘VIVA!’ (Manuel Liñán), Critics’ Award at the 2022 Jerez Festival for ‘Flamenco Espacio Creativo’ (Alfonso Losa), and Critics’ Award, Audience Award and Best Musical Composition Award at the 2024 Jerez Festival for ‘Alter Ego’ (Alfonso Losa & Patricia Guerrero).

The ninth edition of the Bienal de Arte Flamenco de Málaga kicked off on May 27 at the Teatro Cervantes in Malaga with the world premiere of ‘La maharaní’, by Estepona-born bailaora Luisa Palicio, and will last until August 2 with a program that includes almost 40 shows and recitals, 18 world premieres, and almost 200 artists, including established figures and young talents in singing, guitar playing, dancing and music.
