Estepona Town Hall celebrates this Saturday the ‘Arab Culture Festival’ with musical performances, gastronomy and handicrafts.
The activity, which is part of the municipal initiative ‘Sharing Cultures’, aims to promote cultural exchange between the different nationalities living in the city.
The City Council of Estepona informs that this Saturday, September 13, will take place the celebration of the ‘Festival of Arab Culture’ in the Avenida España.
The deputy mayor of the Extraradio area, Begoña Ortíz, explained that this activity is part of the municipal program ‘Sharing cultures’, which aims to promote cultural exchange between the different nationalities living in the city. In this regard, Ortiz has indicated that these social, artistic and cultural events also contribute to foreign residents to participate even more in the reality of Estepona.
The municipal responsible has stressed that Estepona is an example of integration and coexistence by having a total of 135 registered nationalities, and added that the ‘Arab Culture Festival’ will strengthen ties with a community that has 2,500 people in the city.
As for the celebration of this Saturday, Begoña Ortiz said that it will take place from 13.00 hours in Spain Avenue, at the height of the monument to La Peseta. There will be installed a total of 15 tents with Moroccan cuisine, henna stalls and crafts. From 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. we will be able to enjoy live music by DJ Siham and the group Dakka Draft.
The ‘Arab Culture Festival’ in Estepona will be again this year an event that highlights the diversity and richness of the different traditions present in the city. In that sense, the councilor of Extraradio has recalled that the municipal initiative ‘Sharing cultures’ has also celebrated this year other activities such as St. Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s national holiday, the Italian Festival and the Day of the Foreign Resident.
Looking ahead to the fall, other celebrations have been scheduled, such as Nordic Countries Day and Ukraine Day on September 27 and 28, respectively. The Latin Countries Day on October 11 and Germany Day with the Oktober Fest from October 16 to 19.
