Tips and meditations to be happy with the Buddhist nun Guen Kelsang Chokga at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.
He will give the lecture ‘Choose to be happy’ on Wednesday, October 2, at 7:00 p.m., with free access until full capacity is reached.
Estepona City Council informs that the Buddhist nun Guen Kelsang Chokga will be this Wednesday, October 2 at the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel, at 19.00 hours, where she will give the free conference ‘Choose to be happy’.
Guen Kelsang Chokga is a resident teacher in the meditation centers KMC Spain and KMC Malaga and national spiritual director of the New Kadampa Tradition in Spain and Portugal. She has studied and practiced under the guidance of the venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso since 1998, and since then has dedicated her life to imparting the profound teachings of Buddha. She is noted for her clarity in transmitting the teachings and her caring nature as a kadampa practitioner.
According to the spiritual director, “We all want to be happy and we spend a lot of time and energy trying to be happy, but often, without realizing it, our choices lead us down other paths and we end up with more problems and more disappointment, and sometimes our situation even gets worse. We have been trying to be well for so long that we may even think it is impossible. We should know that our daily choices and the direction we take in life play a very important role in our well-being and happiness”.
He further assures that “the advice shared by the great meditation master and Buddhist scholar, Atisha, will help us to create new habits and wise and compassionate ways of thinking that will lead us to peaceful and positive states of mind. In this way, we will feel better and better about ourselves and others and will be able to help those in need.”
Admission is free until full capacity is reached.
