Infrastructure: New town hall inaugurated

The new town hall was recently inaugurated by Estepona’s mayor José María García Urbano. All municipal offices are now united in the new town hall. This should improve citizen services and facilitate internal administration.

The building has an area of 13,068 square metres. 9,157 square metres are above ground, including the ground floor and seven storeys. 3,911 square metres are underground, including the mezzanine floor and the basement, which is used as a parking garage. The multi-storey car park is open around the clock; a day ticket costs 1 euro.

The new city hall was designed to provide citizens with short distances. The reception is therefore located on the ground floor, the plenary hall is on the first floor and the higher floors are reserved for staff.

However, the building not only has a special functionality, but also a special design. It is enclosed by a grid that is intended to radiate lightness, transparency and permeability.
