The bullring of Estepona hosts the show of parodies and monologues ‘El Garrapata’ and ‘El Trinchera’.

The performance will take place on Friday, August 9, at 10:00 p.m.

Two of the great characters that have gone down in the history of Cadiz’s comic carnival, El Trinchera (Carlos Mení) and El Garrapata (Javi Aguilera), will take part in a television program of questions and tests to see who is the best. Both characters arrive at the program thanks to their friend (Joselito), the production manager who, surprisingly, is less bright than they are. A show full of parodies, monologues and a lot of improvisation with the audience.

The plot will be guided by the great presenter Gorgorito Fernández (Selu Piulestán) who will give way to the different games and questions. Undoubtedly, the most surreal and funniest show of the year.

Trench: José Carlos Mení Quintero, known as ‘Carlitos Mení’, was born in Cadiz in 1979 and from an early age participates in the Official Competition of Groups of the Carnival of Cadiz. But in 2008 he found the key and created unique characters, and from then on he began to star in the most successful quartets of the contest in recent times.

He has worked as a comedian in various television programs on Canal Sur as ‘Tiene Gracia’ and ‘Esto es lo que hay’ captained by Rocio Madrid. In addition to the Carnival, Carlos Mení covers several theatrical projects that have achieved absolute full houses and a completely devoted audience.

Garrapata: Javi Aguilera is an actor, comedian, carnival performer and scriptwriter. He began his artistic career in the Canal Sur TV program ‘Las tardes con María’, hosted by María del Monte. There he grew artistically, working as a comedian and scriptwriter.

Later he began his career as a monologuist since 2007 with different producers, touring theaters and halls throughout Spain. He has been an actor in multiple series and films such as: “Allí abajo” (Antena3), “La respuesta está la historia” (Canal Sur), “Brigadas de fenómenos” (Canal sur), or “Antes de la quema” by Fernando Colomo.

He is currently a member, author and producer of the comedy/carnival show “Los Ya Son Five de Cai” with five of the best known faces of the current comic carnival. He has been author and member of more than fifteen quartets in the official contest of the carnival of Cadiz (all of them finalists).

Although he is a well-known face of the prestigious contest, he has also worked as a scriptwriter for multiple television and film producers.
