The Cine-Club kicks off its spring season with ‘Living’, a British film by Oliver Hermanus based on the Japanese film ‘Living’ by Kurosawa.
The film, set in London in 1953, depicts a bureaucrat facing a deadly disease. It will be screened on Thursday 21, at 8 p.m., in the original version in English, with free access.
The Estepona City Council informs that the Cine-Club of the Culture Delegation starts the spring cycle with the screening of ‘Living’, a 2022 British dramatic film directed by Oliver Hermanus, from a script by Kazuo Ishiguro, adapted from the 1952 Japanese film ‘Living’ (Ikiru) directed by Akira Kurosawa which, in turn, was inspired by the 1886 Russian novel ‘The Death of Ivan Ilyich’ by Leo Tolstoy.

The screening will be on Thursday, March 21, at 8:00 p.m., at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, in the original version in English with Spanish subtitles, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
Synopsis: Williams is a veteran civil servant buried under office paperwork as the city rebuilds after World War II. Upon receiving a shattering medical diagnosis, he empties his savings account and heads for the coast. He vows to make his last days a meaningful time, but realizes he doesn’t know how to do it. After a mysterious stranger drives him to town, Williams becomes intrigued by a young co-worker who seems to possess the vitality he had lost. With the help of his optimistic colleague, Williams pulls out all the stops to make his surroundings happy in a surprising way.
