The Deputy Mayor of the Sociocultural Area, Paula Herrera, today received the 16 students who have completed their training in the first edition of the free workshops in Gardening, Electricity, Plumbing and Masonry. He also welcomed the students of the second edition of this training program.

This initiative is offered by the City Council, which provides every year three editions of these workshops in which students, over a period of three months receive 250 hours of training, both theoretical and practical. It is aimed at young people between 16 and 24 years old, who have not had access to training cycles or who are unemployed with the aim of giving them more options to access the labor market for three months.

The internships are carried out in the concessionary companies of the different municipal services, an initiative that allows the students to get in touch with the working world and learn how to solve the incidents and real situations that usually arise in the performance of their profession. Also, students will expand their knowledge by doing internships at the headquarters of some local associations, always under the guidance of a professional.

In addition, students attending the Gardening workshop will be instructed in the application of phytosanitary products, an essential qualification for working in this profession. The learning process is completed with information and guidance for the search for employment and informative talks on drug prevention, occupational hazards and fires in the home, as well as recreational and sports activities.

Students who participate in these workshops are referred by the counselors of the schools, by the parents of the students or those interested can register by collecting the application in the Delegation of Social Services, located at Avenida San Lorenzo No. 31 and delivering them by the entry register of the City Council.
