The City Council will decorate the delegate of Sustainable Development of the Junta in Malaga and police officers on the occasion of Local Police Day.
Along with José Antonio Víquez, the association Aprona and the National Police Commissioner Santos Lázaro will also receive the Police Merit Medal with white badge.
The institutional act will take place this Sunday at the Palacio de Congresos.
The Estepona City Council reports that this coming Sunday will celebrate the institutional act on the occasion of the Local Police Day. One more year several Medals of Police Merit with white badge will be awarded to commemorate the holiday.
One of the honorees will be the territorial delegate of Sustainable Development of the Junta de Andalucía in Malaga, José Antonio Víquez, who performs his duties at the headquarters of the Provincial Management of the Agency for Environment and Water of Andalusia in Malaga.
Víquez was mayor of Yunquera, his hometown, from 2011 to 2021. Of his management at the head of the consistory yunquerano highlights the eagerness and use of all means at its disposal to promote the development of culture, devoting time, management and resources hardly surmountable. The City Council of Estepona recognizes with this medal his vocation of public service, as well as his willingness to collaborate in projects that benefit our city.
Another of the awards will be for the current Commissioner of the National Police Force in Estepona, Santos Lazaro. This command has a long career, with experience in all police areas, as well as in institutional relations acquired over the years in the performance of positions of maximum responsibility.
With extensive training in all areas of police work, he has a natural predisposition to generate brilliant synergies between the units and groups he has led, as well as in the development of diplomatic activities during the five years he served as Liaison Officer in Bogota, Colombia.
The City Council will award another of the Medals for Police Merit with white badge to Aprona, a foundation aimed at providing people with intellectual disabilities with the necessary support for the development of their life projects and the promotion of the improvement of their quality of life. It was founded in 1975 as an initiative of a group of parents concerned about the uncertain future of their children with disabilities.
After launching several educational programs together with the Estepona City Council, in 2017 it began collaborating with the Consistory to create employment in the town for people with disabilities through the management of the parking lot on Avenida San Lorenzo. This collaboration subsequently increased with the management of other parking lots and the Athletics Stadium. In 2019 Aprona was declared of General Public Interest by the Estepona City Council.
The Estepona City Council will also award the Police Merit Medal with different white to the following officers of the Local Police of Estepona: José Manuel Montes Iglesias, Antonio José Parra Domínguez, Oliverio Alejandro Aragüez López, José Francisco Jiménez Aragón, Álvaro Arjona Ruiz Henestrosa, David Piña Rodríguez, Francisco Javier Luque Díaz, Miguel Illescas Guillén, and María Dolores Aleu Román.
On the other hand, the Consistory will make several individual public congratulations and decorate with Crosses to the Constancy with green or blue badge to agents of the Headquarters for their two or three decades of service.
Also, during the institutional act, which will take place at 13.00 hours in the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses, other distinctions will be awarded to the Local Police officers and public congratulations will be made for meritorious interventions.
