The fourth summer concert of the Municipal Band will be dedicated to zarzuela

Estepona City Council reports that the Municipal Band of Music (BME) will perform next Sunday, August 4, at 21:00 pm, the fourth concert of the summer season at the Recinto Musical Maestro Navarro Mollor, located in the emblematic Plaza del Reloj. On this occasion, they will perform a monographic program entitled ‘La Gran Noche de la Zarzuela’, with preludes, pasodobles and zarzuela passacaglia of the great authors of this genre.

During the seven free performances included in this cycle, will be interpreted by the Municipal Band of Estepona more than fifty works, including pasodobles, soundtracks of television series and movies, great classical and musical works, zarzuelas, modern popular music …

The performances take place every Sunday in the central Plaza del Reloj, until concluding on August 25 in the Plaza del Ajedrez, with the concert ‘El Baúl de los 70’, with the singer Serafín Zubiri.

The origin of the Estepona Band dates back to 1940, performing uninterruptedly since then, making it one of the oldest band formations in the country. On its 75th anniversary, the City Council awarded it the Gold Medal of the City.
