The City Council moves forward in the final phase of the coastal corridor and awards the construction of the section in Bahía Dorada

The new pathway will connect two existing walkways in the area via a wooden pedestrian walkway
The Estepona City Council has awarded the works for the execution of the section of the coastal corridor corresponding to the Bahía Dorada area. In this way, a further step is taken in the ambitious project of pedestrian connection of the entire seafront of the municipality, which is in its final phase.
This new section will connect the existing walkways between the urbanization La Galera Beach and the land path of Bahía Dorada, through a wooden pedestrian walkway 168 meters long. The main objective is the recovery of this space for public use, improving accessibility and landscape integration of the coastline, while ensuring the protection of the maritime-terrestrial public domain.
The project includes the construction of a wooden decking path supported on porticoes, which will be set on prefabricated concrete footings and wooden piles, depending on the conditions of the terrain. The platform will have a useful width of three meters, with safety railings on both sides, and will be equipped with LED lighting beacons on the pavement to ensure safety and visibility at night, without generating glare. The work has been awarded for 229,137 euros (VAT included).
With this action, the Consistory continues to move forward in the consolidation of the coastal corridor as one of the major axes of urban and tourist transformation of the municipality, facilitating walking or cycling along the entire coast of Estepona and betting on sustainable mobility, safe and accessible to all.
