Estepona will host the 9th Virgen del Carmen Coronada Swim next Sunday

This charity race will take place on Sunday, July 26, at 11:00 a.m., on La Rada Beach, near Plaza del Diario ABC. Registration, limited to 300 participants, will remain open until July 24 at 5:00 p.m. on dorsalchip.es

The Estepona City Council today hosted the official presentation of the 9th Virgen del Carmen Coronada Open Water Swim, a well-established event on the open-water swimming calendar that will take place next Sunday, July 26, starting at 11 a.m. at La Rada Beach, across from Plaza del Diario ABC.

The swim, which is non-competitive and a non-profit event, is organized by the Estepona Swimming Club (CNE), in collaboration with the Estepona City Council, and continues to aim to encourage swimming and promote participation by both local athletes and swimmers from different parts of Spain and Europe.

Following today’s presentation, the organizers are making final preparations for an event that will once again bring together hundreds of open-water swimming enthusiasts for a day of sports and fellowship.

The event also maintains its charitable nature thanks to a partnership with the Hermandad Nuestra Señora del Carmen Coronada. In this regard, all participants are asked to donate, on the day of the event, one kilogram of non-perishable food items, which will be donated to Cáritas Parroquial del Carmen.

The competition will include a children’s race with two distances: a 300-meter race for swimmers born between 2016 and 2018, and a 600-meter race for participants born between 2012 and 2015. In the adult category, two distances will be contested: 1,400 meters and 2,600 meters (equivalent to two laps of the course), for swimmers born in 2007 or later.
