The City Council announces the VI Outdoor Speed Painting Contest ‘Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol’.

This artistic event will be held on Saturday, May 30, from 09.00 to 14.00 hours.

The City Council of Estepona informs of the call for the VI Outdoor Speed Painting Contest ‘Estepona, Garden of the Coast’, which aims to promote artistic creation and disseminate the landscape and urban heritage of the municipality.

The contest will be held next Saturday, May 30, from 09.00 to 14.00 hours in the afternoon. Anyone over 16 years of age may participate.

Participants must execute during these hours and within the municipality a pictorial work in which the theme is any landscape, corner or recognizable motif of Estepona. It will not be allowed to paint on terraces of establishments, nor to obstruct access to homes or premises. The physical presence of the artist in the place will be compulsory.

The technique will be free and each participant must provide all the necessary materials for the realization of the work.

As for the format, the support will be rigid or properly mounted on the frame. The size shall be 50×70 centimeters. The work must be presented with an easel and a system for its hanging (eyebolt or similar), all of which must be provided by the participant.

The supports on which they are going to work will be sealed by the organization of the contest on my day, from 08.45 hours in the Casa de Las Tejerinas (Plaza de Las Flores). Each participant may stamp a maximum of two supports, but may only submit one work to the contest. The entry form must be completed and returned by 8:45 a.m. on the same day.

Finished works may be delivered to the Casa de Las Tejerinas from the beginning of the contest until 2:00 p.m., which is a non-extendable deadline.

The jury of the contest will be composed of people of recognized prestige in the artistic field. A representative of the City Council will act as secretary, with voice but without vote.

The jury’s decision will be made public at approximately 2.30 p.m. and will be final. The awards ceremony will follow.

The winning works will become part of the municipal art collection of the City Council of Estepona.

The selected works will be exhibited at the Casa de Las Tejerinas between June 1 and 15, 2026.

The non-winning works may be withdrawn by their authors after the jury’s decision, except for the works selected to form the exhibition, which will be withdrawn once the exhibition is over. After fifteen calendar days without being withdrawn, the City Council of Estepona may freely dispose of them.

The contest establishes the following prizes:

-First prize: 600 euros.

-Second prize: 300 euros.

In addition, a diploma will be awarded to the ten finalists.
