The City Council presents the poster of the Fair and Festivities 2026 by the artist Marta Bernad

The work, entitled ‘Cuando el mar baila’ (When the sea dances) is inspired by the sunrise over the Mediterranean. The Fair and Festivities 2026 will be held from July 7 to 12.

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, along with the artist Marta Bernad, today presented the poster announcing the Fair and Festivities of Estepona 2026, to be held from 7 to 12 July. the fair will be held from 7 to 12 July.

The work, entitled ‘When the sea dances’, has been created by Marta Bernad and is born from an image linked to the identity of Estepona and the creative universe of the author: the sunrise over the Mediterranean.

In this composition, the light emerges over the horizon and the sea is symbolically transformed into the movement of a flamenco skirt in full dance. The Mediterranean and the fair thus merge into a single image charged with emotion, rhythm and celebration.

The skirt, conceived as an extension of the sea itself, represents the shared joy of the festivities and the luminous essence of Estepona, ‘a city where tradition, beauty and Mediterranean life dance together’, as the artist explained during the presentation.

The mayor, José María García Urbano, highlighted the poster’s ability to ‘reflect the soul of Estepona through a contemporary work but linked to our roots’. He also noted that the work ‘perfectly conveys the joy, light and the welcoming character of our Fair and Festivities’.

For his part, Marta Bernad, a native of Zaragoza and a resident of Estepona, explained that with the work ‘When the sea dances’ wanted to pay tribute to the light, the sea and the festive spirit of the city, uniting the Mediterranean landscape with the excitement of the fair.

With this poster, the City Council begins the countdown to one of the most anticipated celebrations of the local festive calendar, which will again fill the city with music, tradition, activities and festive atmosphere from 7 to 12 July 2026.
