The City Council carries out a clearing and cleaning campaign in more than thirty stretches of the coastal corridor.

The purpose of the action is to ensure the cleanliness and conservation of this infrastructure, facilitating safe transit and avoiding the accumulation of dry vegetation that can cause fires. This work, which began last week, is being carried out by a team of five workers with brush cutters, pruners and blowers.
The Estepona City Council reports that last week began a campaign of clearing and cleaning of the entire coastal corridor, with the aim of keeping this space in optimal conditions for the use of neighbors.
The work, which began in the area of Guadalobón, is being carried out by a team of five specialized workers, who have brush cutters, pruners and blowers to carry out the work of conditioning and maintenance of this path.
The action has a dual purpose: on the one hand, to ensure the cleanliness and conservation of the coastal corridor, facilitating safe transit; and on the other, to reduce the accumulation of dry vegetation and undergrowth, thus contributing to fire prevention during the months of greatest risk.
In addition, in order to ensure the proper maintenance of the coastal corridor throughout the summer season, the clearing work will be carried out twice during the summer season. This action will control the growth of vegetation and keep the path in optimal conditions of safety, cleanliness and accessibility, preventing weeds from invading the path again.
The implementation of these two actions is especially necessary this year due to the intense growth of weeds and vegetation, due to the abundant rains recorded during the winter, which has made these tasks particularly complex.
The coastal corridor is a strategic infrastructure for sustainable mobility, tourism and environmental protection that seeks to connect the entire coast of the municipality. The different sections executed, and those pending approval, guarantee the protection of the maritime-terrestrial public domain, allowing the use by citizens.
