The City Council undertakes the comprehensive cleaning of all the umbrellas on the Paseo Marítimo to improve their conservation and the image of this public space.

The works, which will be carried out during this week, include the cleaning of the 28 shade-generating structures that were installed in the integral remodeling of the Promenade.

The City Council of Estepona informs that the works of integral cleaning of all the umbrellas of the Paseo Marítimo have begun with the objectives of improving its state of conservation and to reinforce the image of one of the most emblematic spaces of the city.

The action focuses on the cleaning by a specialized company of the 28 structures that generate shade in this area so busy by residents and tourists. The work includes the removal of waste accumulated inside the umbrellas, such as plant debris and other objects, as well as interior and exterior cleaning using specialized techniques that combine the use of pH-neutral products, mechanical brushing and controlled pressure water.

These tasks will be carried out using low-aggressive methods that preserve both the finish and the tension of the materials, thus guaranteeing the correct conservation of the structures and prolonging their useful life.

The work will be carried out with specialized technical means, including a lifting platform, and will take place during this week.

It should be noted the importance of these preventive interventions to prolong the life of street furniture exposed to weather conditions and salinity of the coastal environment. It is also recalled that these tasks complement the usual cleaning and conservation programs that are developed throughout the year on the promenade and other public areas of the municipality.

With this intervention, the Consistory reinforces its commitment to the conservation of urban heritage, helping to maintain the promenade as an attractive, safe and comfortable space for the enjoyment of all.
