La Casa de Las Tejerinas is hosting a new exhibition featuring the work of painter Antonio Solórzano

The exhibition will remain on display and can be visited through August 12

The Estepona City Council announces that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host an exhibition by Antonio Solórzano, an artist from Córdoba who now lives in the province of Jaén, beginning this Thursday, July 23.

The painting exhibition, titled “The Work of Solórzano,” consists of 30 paintings in various formats, in which visitors can appreciate the characteristic features of his distinctive style as a painter: figurative art, realistic figures bordering on Impressionism mixed with Cubism, scenes of daily life, still lifes, landscapes…, and will be open to the public until August 12, Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.

Antonio Solórzano is a painter with an extensive artistic career. He earned his diploma in 1972 in Artistic Drawing and Technical Drawing, after completing several specialized courses in Córdoba and at the Barcelona School of Art.

Starting in the 1980s, he began exhibiting his work in galleries throughout Spain, some of which also held exhibitions in other countries, such as Italy, France, England, and the U.S., bringing his total to more than 200 exhibitions; he has also participated in the Beijing International Art Fair. Currently, the Crisolar Gallery in Barcelona is exhibiting some of his works in New York.

His work has won awards in national and international competitions, and many of his paintings are held in museums and private collections throughout Spain. He has also given lectures on art and served on the jury for numerous national painting competitions alongside painters and art critics such as Miguel Viribay Abad and Manuel Kayser Zapata.

He is a member of the “Pintor Pedro Bueno” Association of Andalusian Painters of the Blue Palette. He teaches drawing and painting classes at the Miguel de Cervantes Elementary School in Lopera and at the Arjonilla Cultural Center.

He has donated some of his works to various associations and religious communities, such as the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the Chapel of San Isidro Labrador in Lopera, and the Chapel of the Virgin of the Star in Villa del Río, to benefit victims of floods or earthquakes.
