The City Council is nearing completion of the project to install sidewalks along the Benahavís road

This project, located on the stretch between the Mar y Monte and La Alquería roundabouts, is more than 90 percent complete, with only the planting of trees, landscaping, and minor finishing touches remaining.

The Estepona City Council reports that construction work to add sidewalks to the Benahavís Road, on its urban section, is nearing completion. 

This project, which was requested by local residents, has been carried out now that the city has obtained the transfer of ownership of this 2.3-kilometer-long section. A few months ago, the General Directorate of Road Infrastructure of the Regional Ministry of Development, Territorial Planning, and Housing of the Regional Government of Andalusia approved the document formalizing the transfer of ownership of this section of road to the municipality of Estepona.

The project, with a budget of 1,358,000 euros, consists of improving the entire area, including the construction of a sidewalk to ensure pedestrian access between the two points (from the A-7 to Avenida de La Alquería) and to connect the various residential developments in the surrounding area. 

The project, which is more than 90 percent complete, is awaiting landscaping and tree planting, as well as minor finishing touches. Previously, the route was cleared, the esplanade was constructed, and storm drains were excavated and installed, in addition to lighting work.
