The Botanical Orchid Park celebrates its tenth anniversary with more than half a million visits since its opening.

The center, consolidated as a tourist and environmental reference, has registered the highest number of visitors since its inauguration in 2025.
The Botanical-Orchidarium Park continues to grow in the number of visitors and has become one of the most popular attractions in the city, both for locals and tourists. A decade after its inauguration, the municipal facility that houses the largest collection of orchids in Spain and one of the most important in Europe has registered more than half a million visits. In addition, it has once again reached record figures. The summer of 2025 has been the summer with the highest number of visitors to its facilities since its opening, with a total of 16,372 people in the months of July, August and September.
Forecasts indicate that the year will close with a new growth compared to 2024. In fact, between January and October, 45,021 visitors have been recorded, 13% more than in the same period last year.
The Botanical-Orchidarium Park of Estepona, with more than 3,000 species of plants, of which more than 1,500 are orchids, is one of the highlights of the routes that visitors to the city design during their stay, and one of the attractions most valued by the neighbors. Access records indicate that the majority of users are from Spain. Among them are also counted those registered in Estepona, to whom the City Council grants two invitations per year. European citizens also stand out: Germans, French, English, Finns, Italians and Swedes. There are also numerous visits from people from the United States, Argentina, China and Morocco.
It covers an area of 1,000 square meters and offers the visual attraction of a subtropical forest with orchids growing on tree trunks, giant-leafed araceae, more than 300 square meters of vertical gardens, a water lily pond, a 15-meter waterfall and three glass domes.
Its botanical collection includes more than 1,500 species of orchids, represented by more than 4,000 exhibits of all sizes, colors, and shapes, recreating the habitat and climatic conditions of the tropics, from Central and South America to Australia. Among the most curious are the Phalaenopsis bellina, with purple colors and an exquisite fragrance; the Encyclia alata affinis, with a chocolate scent; or the Maxillaria tenuifolia, with delicate leaves and a coconut scent.
Outside, the Estepona Orchidarium has a large green lung of more than 15,000 square meters in the heart of the city. This botanical park is going to undergo its biggest renovation since its opening. The intervention programmed by the City Council includes new trees and botanical collection, as well as the renovation of lighting, paving and street furniture.
The objectives of the Estepona Orchidarium are, on the one hand, the conservation of its botanical collection and, on the other hand, its cultural projection through the promotion of information, communication and promotion of the botanical heritage of the city through individual or group visits, with the character of a municipal public service of general interest.
