The City Council reestablishes traffic on Los Polvitos and Marimacho rural roads after completion of the refurbishment works.

The Estepona City Council informs citizens that traffic has been restored in the rural roads of Los Polvitos and Marimacho, after the completion of the refurbishment works that have been executed to facilitate the circulation to the neighbors of these areas.

Specifically, the works on the Marimacho road have consisted in the concreting of a section of 200 linear meters of steep slope to avoid landslides in rainy seasons. The ditches have also been cleaned and the rest of the road has been made smooth with gravel.

On the other hand, the work carried out on the Los Polvitos road consisted of the construction of a breakwater wall to contain slopes that had suffered landslides due to the surface water concentrated in times of heavy rains.

In addition, works have been carried out to collect the surface water that flows down these roads to return it to its natural course and the affected road surface has been paved.

These same works are now being carried out on the rural road of La Malagueña, where the company Canteras Almargen, S.L, has begun work on the construction of another breakwater wall to avoid problems in the event of heavy rainfall. Due to this action, partial traffic cuts will take place in the coming days.
