The Estepona City Council reports that it has put out to bid the work to renovate and refurbish a total of 14 playgrounds in the city center and the outskirts. The deputy mayor in charge of Services and External Oversight, Blas Ruzafa, explained that the City Council will allocate 841,942 euros to the renovation of these public spaces designed for children.
Specifically, the playground at Huerta Nueva, the Human Rights playground on Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer Street, the playground near the Ramón Lago School in Cancelada, and the Los Niños playground on Polonia Street will undergo comprehensive renovations.
At the Huerta Nueva playground, the current play equipment will be replaced with a “Pirate Ship” multi-play structure featuring an enclosed slide, a rope bridge, and a crawl tunnel. In addition, solar-powered LED lighting and continuous flooring will be installed.
At the Human Rights playground, the existing play structures and old rubber flooring will also be removed. In their place, a three-tower play structure, a double swing, a seesaw, a spring rocker, an inclusive playhouse, and continuous flooring will be installed.
At the park located next to the Ramón Lago School in Cancelada, the deteriorated wooden fencing and playground equipment will be removed. Subsequently, a circular modular play structure will be installed, featuring climbing walls, a static hammock, a swing, a dragon seesaw, a slide, safety fencing, and shock-absorbing flooring.
At Los Niños Park, the reusable playground equipment will be inspected, elements in poor condition will be removed, and a new multi-play structure with three platforms, a swing, safety fencing, and continuous rubber surfacing will be installed.
In addition, the City Council will proceed with the renovation and refurbishment of the following 10 playgrounds.

At the park on Las Joyas, the multi-play structure and the seesaw will be repainted. Additionally, the car-shaped seesaw will be replaced with a sailboat-shaped one, and rubber edging will be installed around the perimeter.
At Los Pedregales Park, the four-tower multi-play structure (ladders, handholds, metal slide), the zip line, the basket swing, and the spring riders will be repaired. Work will also be carried out to excavate, align, and replace the perimeter wooden sleepers, as well as to compact and de-compact the aggregate.
