The Municipal Band will conclude its summer concert series on Sunday with the themed program “Music and Film: A Night in the Wild West”

The concert will take place on Sunday, August 23, at 9:00 p.m., at Plaza del Reloj, under the direction of Maestro José Antonio López Camacho, principal and artistic director of the Estepona Municipal Band

The Estepona City Council announces that the Municipal Band will conclude its summer concert series next Sunday, August 23, at 9:00 p.m., at the Mtro. Navarro Mollor Music Venue, located in the iconic Plaza del Reloj, with the themed program “Music and Film: A Night in the Wild West.”

The concert will feature a carefully curated selection of Western movie soundtracks—those films that have defined the aesthetic of the Wild West—such as “Silverado,” “Bonanza,” “A Fistful of Dollars,” and “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly,” among others.

The BME’s seventeenth season, under the principal and artistic direction of Maestro José Antonio López Camacho, kicked off on July 23. During the five free performances included in this summer series, the Estepona Municipal Band has performed a varied program of preludes, interludes, marches, and zarzuela fantasies; great classical works and original music for bands; modern popular music from the 20th century; and movie soundtracks…

The Estepona Band dates back to 1940 and has performed continuously ever since, making it one of the oldest bands in the country. On its 75th anniversary, the City Council awarded it the City’s Gold Medal.
