The City Council honors the 21 top high school students in Estepona at the 13th annual Educational Excellence Awards

This municipal initiative, with a budget of 12,000 euros, supports students who have earned the highest grades at the city’s various schools

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, presented the 13th Awards for Educational Excellence today to high school students from the city’s six secondary schools. The mayor noted that this municipal initiative aims to recognize the efforts of the young people who achieved the highest grades in their final year of high school.

The mayor addressed the students, reminding them that this award “is a recognition of your constant effort, your dedication, discipline, and commitment. Your example shows that talent, when combined with hard work and responsibility, can achieve great things.” He also reminded them that they are the future, “and that is why you must be as prepared as possible, so that your communities can move forward, prosper, and be full of opportunities for future generations.”

Finally, García Urbano encouraged them to continue “pursuing your dreams with the same enthusiasm and determination. We are convinced that this is just one more step on a path full of successes and opportunities.”

These awards are endowed with a total of 12,000 euros. All students enrolled in the 2025–2026 school year in their second year of high school at IES Mar de Alborán, IES Monterroso, IES Mediterráneo, Patrocinio San José School, Atalaya School, and Diocesano Juan XXIII School.

Each principal, based on the number of students enrolled at their respective schools, compiled a list that included the average grade for the entire Bachillerato cycle.

The winners were selected directly based on these lists of average grades, and the recipients are as follows:
