The City Council organizes a program of activities to commemorate the Day of the Foreign Resident
The event will be held this Saturday, April 20 from 12:00 to 20:00 hours in the Calvario Park and will feature the participation of twenty countries that will present their gastronomy, crafts and traditions.
The Estepona City Council reports that this Saturday, April 20, the 19th edition of the Foreign Resident Day, which will take place from 12.00 to 20.00 hours in the Calvario Park.
The deputy mayor of the area of Development, Infrastructure and Tourism (FIT), Ana Velasco, said that the aim of this annual event is to strengthen ties and promote coexistence among citizens of different nationalities residing in Estepona, in addition to learning about the culture of each of the participating countries.
The municipal responsible has also stressed that this event is a unique opportunity to taste the typical cuisine and purchase handicrafts of the participating countries, such as: Belgium, Sweden, Hungary, United Kingdom, Ireland, Malta, Romania, Italy, Ukraine, United States, Morocco, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Venezuela.
Also, Velasco has announced that this year as a novelty these countries will have a stand to promote their activities through local magazines of foreign origin.
For this open day has been designed a cultural program with performances by different artists representing their countries and dance academies of Estepona.

12:00 hours: Welcome and inauguration of the event with the performance of ‘Sur Pipes Band’.
12:20 hours: Performance by Ana Guerrero’s ‘Solo Flamenco’ school.
12:50 hours: Monica Silvestrand will perform songs from Sweden
13:10 hours: Municipal School of Dance with Mariví Rodríguez and Claudia Ramírez ‘La Maravilla’.
13:40 hours: Las Paraguayitas of Estepona
14:00 hours: Award Ceremony for ‘Foreign Resident of the Year’.
14:30 hours: Music with DJ
14:40 hours: Salsa performance with ‘H’.
15:10 hours: Doña Julia Line Dancer
15:30 hrs: Hungarian music with Vivien Leveleki and Norbert Visnyovszki
3:50 p.m.: Neily Diamond ‘Tribute to Neil Daimond’.
4:10 p.m.: Celtic music with ‘Los Band O’Leros’.
4:30 p.m.: Bolivian group Gory Songos X Siempre: Clemente Pinto and Nélida Ramírez

In addition to this event, another new initiative promoted by the City Council to promote the integration and participation of foreign residents is the program ‘Sharing Cultures’, an important annual project that seeks to publicize the various customs, festivals and cuisine of the foreign population.
