Estepona will host during the 27th and 28th of April the traditional Subida a Peñas Blancas, one of the most demanding and expected motor racing events on the national scene. This circuit, highly valued by the drivers to have the longest route on the national scene, with 7.5 kilometers, is included in the Provincial Championship of Motorsport of the Provincial Council of Malaga, an event presented today at the headquarters of the provincial institution.
The Provincial Motorsport Championship of the Provincial Council of Malaga is an initiative of the provincial body in collaboration with the Andalusian Motorsport Federation that was born in 2018 “since the province, being so mountainous, has unique roads and places for the development of motorsport,” as recalled the vice president and deputy of Sports, Juan Rosas, during the presentation of the new edition of the championship, which will bring together 600 participants from 20 teams.
During the presentation of the event, which has been attended by mayors and councilors of the municipalities that host tests, the Councillor for Sports of Estepona, Luis Miguel Gil, stressed the importance of the Subida a Peñas Blancas for the municipality, indicating the “tourist, social and economic attraction of this event and its impact on a municipality like Estepona that has more than 180 sporting events a year”.
