The City Council launches a new edition of the Road Safety Education Program for kindergarten and primary school students in 18 schools
The objective of this initiative is to instill in young children useful guidelines, tips and lessons related to traffic safety on the streets.
The Estepona City Council informs that road safety education will once again take center stage in school classrooms from September 30, with the start of a new edition of the ‘Road Safety Education Program’ in kindergarten and primary schools.
The aim of this initiative is to instill in the little ones guidelines, tips and useful teachings related to Road Safety on the streets, familiarize them with the environment, and raise awareness of the importance of respecting the rules of the road so that their behavior is carried out correctly and safely for themselves and for the rest of the users.
In principle, the program will run until June, during school hours, in a total of 18 schools in the town, and will be run by Carlos Coronil, an agent of the Local Police Headquarters in Estepona. The program will cover three educational stages: Infant and Primary cycle, and then continue in the Institutes with the students of Secondary.
The Councilor for Education, Maria Aguilar, stressed the importance of this type of educational programs taught in schools, since “the infant stage is a period conducive to learning rules, signs and traffic laws, and for the creation of habits, behaviors and road values, which will result positively in the development of a safer mobility”. He also thanked the educational centers for the facilities for this activity to continue to be developed, establishing itself each year as another subject.
