The City Council collaborates with the creation of a new artistic mural at CEIP Santo Tomás de Aquino

The new work, created by graffiti artist José Enrique Rangel ‘Bestror’, pays tribute to the library of this educational center.

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, has visited the facilities of the CEIP Santo Tomás de Aquino to see the new artistic mural that has been made in its facilities. It is a work executed by the graffiti artist José Enrique Rangel ‘Bestror’, where the protagonist is the library of the school itself.

In this way, the space that this school dedicates to a library that has a significant number of copies, which have been donated mostly so that students can have a variety of genres, authors and themes.

The alderman, who has been accompanied by the direction of the center and representatives of the AMPA, explained that the City of Estepona has collaborated with this art project by providing the necessary crane so that ‘Bestror’ could capture his work on one of the walls of the school.

García Urbano recalled that this is the third mural that takes place in the CEIP Santo Tomás de Aquino, which shows the interest that this center has to bring artistic creation to its students. Previously, the Consistory also collaborated with machinery in the execution of another mural which was dedicated to the world of chess.

The mayor thanked those responsible for this center for joining with this type of actions to the municipal project of the Route of Artistic Murals, which has enabled the creation of more than 70 large-format outdoor works.

This initiative, which has become a national reference in urban art, has brought art to different neighborhoods and residential areas of the city. In addition, this artistic project has been committed to different styles and currents, which awakens the interest of those interested in urban art.
