The City Council of Estepona informs that the San Roqueña Ana R. Chaves will present on Friday, January 24, at 18.00 hours, her first autobiographical book ‘Depression. Fight or die’, a story of overcoming that gives visibility to this disease. It will take place in the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
Published by Círculo Rojo Grupo Editorial, the reader will find in this book, in the words of the author, “a story of struggle, where love, family and emigration are intertwined with the pursuit of my dream, flamenco. Which leads me to face depression and the search for answers”. “This book is aimed at all those who have felt the weight of depression in their own flesh, or have accompanied a loved one in their struggle,” he says.
Synopsis: In this autobiography the author immerses us in a profound journey of courage and suffering, a life marked by the struggle against depression, a constant feeling of uprooting and the search for her own identity. Emigrating to Germany when she was just a child was a constant challenge in the search for her happiness, in a country she could never call home. From a very early age, the author was forced to assume an adult role at home, which deprived her of her own identity. Caught between two paths, her passion for dance and the great love of her life, the author begins a journey in search of herself.
Through these pages, she invites us to reflect on the importance of not giving up and that, despite the shadows that travel with us, there is always a way. For her, dance, love and her daughter have been the driving forces of her life when all seemed lost.
