City Council expands network of free sports facilities with two new calisthenics areas

The new circuits will become two of the most complete in Andalusia in this discipline.

Estepona City Council reports that it will expand the network of free sports facilities with the creation of two new areas dedicated to the practice of calisthenics to be located in the park of El Angel and the Fair and Sports Park.

The councilman attached to the Sports area, Luis Gil, explained that the new circuits can be considered as two of the most complete calisthenics facilities throughout Andalusia. In this regard, he noted that they will use top quality materials such as galvanized steel and stainless steel for strength and durability suitable for outdoor locations. Gil has pointed out that the City Council will make an investment of about 90,000 euros in the creation of these two new sports facilities in the city.

The new equipment to be installed in the park of El Angel will occupy an area of 400 square meters and will facilitate the practice of this discipline that establishes a training system with physical exercises that are performed with the body weight itself. Thus, several elements will be installed that will allow the execution of sit-ups, push-ups or exercises on bars. Specifically, this new Calisthenics park will have a double Freestyle bar and 1 vertical handrail, Swedish wall, snake Monkey bar, pull-up bars of different heights, triple French push-up bar, incline abdominal bench, double parallel bars, double low parallel bars, double low parallel bars, individual parallel bar, rings, climbing rope and explosive pull-up bars.

For its part, the circuit to be installed at the fairgrounds will be located in a plot in front of the climbing wall and will also have an approximate area of 400 square meters. The elements that will be installed will be similar to those of the circuit of the Angel Park, which will make these two facilities in two of the most complete in Andalusia for the practice of this discipline. Thus, it will have abdominal benches, double parallel bars, parallel bars low, individual parallel bar, polished steel Pole dance bar, parallel bars Hammer, double freestyle bar, push-up bar, Monkey bar inclined, Monkey bar standard, Monkey bar snake d, Swedish wall and triple French push-up bar.

These calisthenics areas are in addition to those already existing on the beach of La Rada, one next to the small square Ortiz and another at the height of the viewpoint of Los Maniseros. The mayor of sports has pointed out that the new calisthenics areas are included in the municipal plan that was launched to bring the sport to the neighbors. This network already has more than thirty sports courts as those executed in the town center, Ceuta Street, Plaza Concha Espina or

Calancha, and in the suburbs (Mar Azul, arroyo de Las Cañas, Nueva Atalaya or skateboarding Cancelada).

To this we must also add about thirty bio-healthy circuits that have been installed in different parts of the municipality, such as the neighborhoods of Armed Forces, Las Joyas, Mar y Sierra, Nueva Atalaya, Huerta Nueva, Saladavieja, Tres Banderas, Primavera, Cancelada, La Lobilla, Avenida Litoral or at different points of the coastal path, among others.

Finally, the head of Sports has advanced that the Consistory will continue to promote actions to bring the sport to citizens, creating new facilities and organizing events of interest to promote the various disciplines.
