Completion of works on Avenida Puerta del Mar to improve the sewage and water supply network
The Consistory has reopened the road to traffic after the works being carried out to install new pipelines in the area.
The Estepona City Council informs of the reopening to traffic of the Puerta del Mar Avenue after the works that have been carried out in the area to improve the sewage, water supply and rainwater collection network.
The Consistory is working to adapt and provide the necessary infrastructure and services to all those areas of the municipality that, by the growth and urban development of the same, so required. In the specific case of the urbanization of the La Calera sector, connection works have been carried out on the Monterroso Stream embankment, which will optimize the sewage and supply network in the area.
Specifically, a new collector has been installed in the vault at its connection with the Las Mesas stream. Various connections are also being made from the new development area to the existing sewerage and water supply networks in the surrounding area. The works are part of the urban development project for the land of La Calera, drawn up by the Estepona Town Council in accordance with the current General Urban Development Plan (PGOU) of Estepona and the approved Detailed Study, and the owners of the sector are responsible for financing them. Based on the same, all the works to provide the area with the necessary accesses and urban infrastructures, i.e., road network, water supply and sewage connection and electricity supply and installation, will be undertaken.
The realization of the works for these new service connections to optimize the sewerage and water supply network has forced a traffic rearrangement in the surroundings of Juan Carlos I Avenue and Puerta del Mar Avenue, which has caused traffic cuts. In the case of Avenida Puerta del Mar, has already reopened to traffic after weeks of work that have presented a special complexity, mainly in the work for the connection of the new collector from the Arroyo Las Mesas with the embankment of the Monterroso.
