Estepona will host a vibrant celebration of Latin American culture, art, and gastronomy at Parque del Calvario this Saturday, 17 October, from 12:00 to 21:30

Estepona residents are invited to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Latin American culture this Saturday, 17 October, as the town hosts its annual Day of Latin Culture. This event offers a unique opportunity to experience the diverse traditions and flavours of Latin America right here in Estepona.

The festivities will take place at Parque del Calvario from 12:00 to 21:30. Estepona Town Hall explains that the day is dedicated to the cultural, artistic, and gastronomic richness of Latin America.

Begoña Ortiz, Deputy Mayor for the Extrarradio area, stated the event aims to foster the integration of the nearly 5,000 Latin citizens living in the municipality. It forms part of the municipal programme ‘Compartiendo Culturas’, which promotes understanding of the cultures and customs of the 130 nationalities present in Estepona.

Ms Ortiz highlighted the special connection with Latin countries, noting shared language, similar traditions, and family values. Attendees can expect a varied programme, including live music, craft displays, and a chance to sample typical dishes from countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela, among others.

Event Programme

The day begins at 12:00 with entertainment from DJ Roberto Ventura and the rhythm of singer and entertainer 'H'. From 16:00, folkloric groups from Brazil, Paraguay, and Bolivia will perform. Later in the evening, a Latin dance competition will start at 19:00. Those wishing to participate can register on site.

The councillor encouraged residents and visitors to join the celebration. The event seeks to entertain, bring cultures closer, share traditions, and strengthen the community through art, music, and good food.
