The City Council carries out improvement and maintenance works in schools during White Week.

Work ranging from roof and bathroom repairs to painting is being carried out.

The City Council of Estepona is carrying out during the non-school days for the celebration of White Week almost a dozen improvement and maintenance actions in schools in the municipality. From the municipal delegation of Children and Education has been requested to the municipal brigades carrying out such interventions taking advantage of the absence of schoolchildren in the centers, which facilitates its faster execution without causing inconvenience.

Thus, the work program of the works and maintenance brigade includes repairs, painting, masonry or plumbing, among others.

Specifically, in the CEIP Ramón Lago, the roof of one of the classrooms has been repaired, and the tasks of unblocking and repairs have been carried out in several bathrooms and manholes. Ceilings have also been painted.

At CEIP Antonio Machado several bathrooms have been repaired and the wall of the Infants’ playground has been painted, while at CEIP Valeriano López plumbing repairs have been carried out.

The El Mar Nursery School has also been affected for urgent works due to a water leak.

In the CEIP Nuestra Señora del Carmen the expansion joint of the ceiling of two classrooms has been repaired, the columns of the dining room have been tiled and corner pieces have been placed on these columns. Likewise, the iron railings of the sports courts have been repaired and the roof repairs have been painted.

Finally, at CEIP José María Espinosa, the linoleum floor of three infant classes has been repaired.

Since the beginning of the current academic year 2024/2025, the City Council has undertaken numerous painting, masonry, locksmithing and structural works. These actions, as well as those carried out during the summer months, are part of the comprehensive maintenance work carried out by the Consistory in the educational centers, which is mostly focused on painting, masonry, locksmithing and plumbing, as well as the conservation of electrical and fire protection installations.

The City Council is responsible for the maintenance of educational centers throughout the year, with more than a thousand actions being carried out.
