The City Council Completes the Comprehensive Renovation of Mirador de Cancelada Avenue

This street, which is being inaugurated today, July 31, at 8:30 p.m., features new pavement, sidewalks, sewer and water supply systems, storm drains, and street lighting, as well as newly planted trees. This initiative is part of a project with a total investment of 2,951,493 euros, which also includes the renovation of Marqués del Duero and Montemayor streets.

The Estepona City Council reports that work on the comprehensive renovation of Mirador de Cancelada Avenue has been completed. The avenue now features a new look in line with the design of the renovated streets throughout Estepona’s urban area, with a greater focus on pedestrians and the modernization of its infrastructure. The inauguration will take place today, July 31, at 8:30 p.m.

The work on this avenue, which is now one-way southbound, consisted of installing new pavement and sidewalks, renovating the sewer, water supply, storm drainage, and street lighting systems, as well as planting trees.

These works are part of the first phase of a project that includes the comprehensive renovation of Cancelada’s main thoroughfares and has a budget of 2,951,493 euros. Thus, once the work on Mirador Avenue is completed, the second phase will begin in September, focusing on Marqués del Duero Street—which will also become one-way, but northbound—and then it will be the turn of the redevelopment of Montemayor Street.

The City Council has opted to award a single contract for the projects but to carry them out in phases, so that work on the second or third project will not begin until the previous one has been fully completed and a Certificate of Completion has been issued, so that each street can continue to serve its function as a thoroughfare and provide access to local services.
