The City Council contracts the drafting of the project for a new public parking lot in the area of La Lobilla.

It will have nearly 400 parking spaces and will be integrated into the public parking network at a cost of 1 euro during the day.

The Estepona City Council has initiated the procedures for the expansion of the public parking network at a cost of 1 euro during the day, and has contracted the drafting of the project for a new parking lot that will be located in the area of La Lobilla and will have about 390 spaces.

Continuing with its goal of improving urban mobility in an overall context of increasing the pedestrian area available to citizens, the City Council maintains as a priority objective to continue providing the municipality with new parking spaces for vehicles at a low cost. For this reason, and with the idea of revitalizing the area around La Lobilla, where there are also several sports centers, we want to provide the area with a subway parking lot which, in principle, has been set for the area between the avenues of Toledo, Segovia and Ciudad Real street.

The proposed works will consist of the construction of a public subway parking lot with two floors under the public surface with an approximate capacity of 390 parking spaces for light vehicles, 195 spaces per floor, and a built surface area of around 5,900 square meters per floor. In total, about 11,803 built meters.

The company selected in the public tender for the drafting of the project now has two and a half months to submit the document.

In addition to creating the parking facilities for vehicles, the intention of the Consistory with this project is to promote and revitalize the area, complementing the public equipment that is the existence of the Municipal Sports Center of La Lobilla. In addition, the landscaping of the outdoor area will be taken care of, and for this purpose a landscaping design of the urbanization will be carried out, giving value to the environment and using the concept of climatic refuge for the area, guaranteeing the shading with suitable species.

These new parking spaces will be added to the 2,000 that already exist in the municipality with this parking formula distributed in the parking lots built in the new City Hall, in the Antonia Guerrero square, in the Athletics Stadium, and in the Chess Square. The parking lot in the Plaza del Carmen is under construction. The offer will be completed with the one planned for Bulevar Parque Central, also under construction.
