The City Council enables the book lending service at the Mirador del Carmen Contemporary Cultures Library.

The center has more than 2,000 bibliographic references from the most important publishers. Users must have a membership card of the Andalusian Public Libraries network.
The City Council of Estepona informs that the Library of Contemporary Cultures, located in the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center, has started the book lending service, thus making available to users its extensive catalog of newly acquired works.
Currently the center has more than 2,000 references, with books for all audiences, highlighting the offer of youth and children’s catalog. The director of the library, Alejandro Simón Partal, emphasizes that they are works of new acquisition and novelties of publishing houses “that are a reference in the contemporary literary creation in Spain”. Among them are Libros del Asteroide, Errata Naturae, Acantilado or Impedimenta, among others.
In addition, the library has a catalog specializing in art and environment for the public interested in deepening knowledge in these subjects.
To use the loan service, users must have the membership card of the Public Library Network of Andalusia, which can be requested at any time both in the library itself Mirador del Carmen, in person, as through the web www.bibliotecasdeandalucia.es.
Loans are made for a period of 15 days, extendable for another ten days.
The Library of Contemporary Cultures is an original center that occupies eight floors of the Mirador del Carmen tower and has the most advanced technology and bibliographic collections available to a public of all ages. It has a studio for recording podcasts, voices and radio programs, but also a ‘makespace’ area (new media, digital printing and digital scenery), workshop area, audiovisual room, ‘gamer’ area, virtual reality, spaces for ‘coworking’ work groups, and for initiation to robotics.
The center is designed for the user to live a unique experience by visiting it every day, so that it becomes an extension of your home, you can live the cultural and technological space. The library is a living space where events such as presentations, workshops or talks are organized throughout the year through a program organized by the City Council.
