The City Council of Estepona informs that the registration period for the Semana Blanca Digital Camp is open, which will be held between February 24 and 27 with the aim of providing digital skills to children and adolescents between 9 and 13 years old. These workshops will address the use of the Internet and digital tools in a useful, creative, safe and responsible way.
This action will be carried out thanks to the collaboration agreement between the Consistory and the CiberVolunteers Foundation. The workshop is free, with DigComp certificate, and consists of a total of 18 teaching hours. It will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the computer room of the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, with contents and activities adapted to each age group.
In addition to learning how to search for valuable information on the Internet, students will learn the tools to create digital content, create secure passwords and protect personal data; they will also receive guidelines to verify information that is shared and detect fake news, and tips to control the time in front of the screens. The training program also addresses the care of privacy and standards of behavior on social networks, filtering and searching for information more effectively, as well as the detection and prevention of cyberbullying.
Those interested may register at the municipal delegation of Youth, through the mail animacion@estepona.es. Places are limited as the capacity is reduced to a maximum of 25 participants.
