The Estepona Exhibition Palace will host the educational exhibition ‘BODIES. Real human bodies’.

This traveling exhibition brings together preserved and dissected human bodies to show the structure of their apparatuses and systems. It will be open from April 11 to May 11.

The councilor attached to the delegation of Culture and Festivities, Macarena Diánez and the promoter of the event Rascid Bafraouri, today presented the exhibition ‘BODIES, Evolution. Real human bodies’, a traveling exhibition of great worldwide success in which visitors can learn about the complexity and beauty of the human body. It will remain open to the public from April 11 to May 11 at the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses.

The municipal responsible has stated that the main objective of ‘BODIES’ is to make visitors understand how this real perfect machine that is the human body is constituted, what organs it has and what is its distribution and operation, as well as the harmful effects of unhealthy habits such as smoking, unbalanced diets or sedentary lifestyle.

Also, the mayor stressed that this exhibition has an educational character and offers the opportunity for schools and institutes to learn about human anatomy, physiology and health through an exhibition especially focused on our bodies and modern daily life.

Rascid Bafraouri explained that the bodies on display are preserved using the plastination technique, which was created by the German anatomist Gunther Von Hagens, and was the result of a long process of more than 20 years of work; this is the only technique used today to keep a body intact for viewing.

Likewise, the promoter of this event has informed that the exhibition is divided into different rooms, such as those dedicated to the following systems: bone, muscle, nervous, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, urinary and reproductive. Fetuses of different gestation times are also exhibited. The exhibition has specialized guides in all the halls, who assist the visitors in their doubts and concerns.

Apart from the human guides, the exhibition has virtual guides, who interact with the human assistants from LED screens; generating an interactive, entertaining and recreational experience for the visitors, both children and adults.

The schedule will be from Tuesday to Friday, from 17:00 to 21:00 hours, and Saturdays and Sundays, from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00 hours, for the general public, while the didactic visits will take place during school hours.

Tickets are priced at 12 euros and there will be discounts for registered residents of Estepona.
