This Saturday, the City Council inaugurates a new soccer field in the northern area of Cancelada.
This training track will serve as a complement to the current 7-a-side soccer facilities used by the local team.
The inauguration ceremony will feature a match between veterans of CD Estepona and CD Cancelada, free paella and bouncy castles.
The Estepona City Council informs that this coming Saturday, February 22nd will take place the inauguration of a new soccer field located in the northern area of Cancelada. The facilities will complement the current 7-a-side soccer field that is already used in this neighborhood and that the CD Cancelada has as a base for their matches.
This new municipal sports equipment has total dimensions of 21.5 x 35 meters, being the playing field of 19.5 x 32 meters. The goals are 7-a-side soccer, in response to the request of the club, with which the technicians of the municipal sports area have been in contact at all times to take into account their requests.
The inauguration of the facilities located in Bahamas Street will begin at 10.00 am this coming Saturday with league matches. From 13.00 hours will take place a match that will face veterans of CD Estepona and CD Cancelada. The event will feature free refreshments and paella and a bar that will bring the Cancelada club, plus bouncy castles for the little ones until 17.00 hours.
The new soccer field is the latest generation of artificial turf, made entirely of polyethylene fibers (PE) to 60 millimeters in height. Its six diamond-shaped filaments (12 strands) per stitch are two shades of sporty green, and its memory effect helps the fiber to recover its initial position after sporty use. The system that has been installed obtained both the FIFA QUALITY and FIFA QUALITY PRO levels, passing the demanding tests of surface player and surface ball interaction established in the FIFA QUALITY PROGRAMME.
The construction work also included equipping the pitch with protective nets around the perimeter, irrigation and artificial lighting. In addition, the lighting of the existing 7-a-side soccer field has been extended.
