Tomorrow will begin the III Free Crochet Workshop held by the neighborhood of Cancelada.

Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m., and in this edition will be made decorations to decorate the neighborhood during the fair period.

Tomorrow will begin a new edition of Crochet Workshop held in the neighborhood of Cancelada, organized by the City Council with the collaboration of the neighborhood association.

The deputy mayor of Extrarradio area, Begoña Ortiz, announced that this edition is called ‘Aires de Feria’, as the work done by students will be used to decorate the streets of the neighborhood in the fair period.

As explained by the mayor, in other calls participants in the workshop made a crochet awning, which is used during the summer to provide shade, and Christmas knitted Christmas ornaments with which they decorated different corners of the neighborhood.

The municipal responsible has highlighted the success of this activity, which is carried out by a group of 20 people of different ages and is monitored by Luli Melero and Lili Iordan.

Also, the councilor has valued the benefits of knitting and crocheting, as it increases self-esteem and sense of wellbeing. In addition, practicing it changes the mood, makes you happier and stimulates cognition, especially when done in social settings.
