Álvaro Páez and Adél Benus, absolute champions of Andalusia Difficulty Climbing 2025

The event, organized by the Grupo de Montaña Estepona (GRUME) and the Federación Andaluza de Deportes de Montaña, Escalada y Senderismo (FADMES), in collaboration with the City Council, took place on the 11th and 12th at the Municipal Climbing Wall.

Estepona City Council reports that the municipal climbing wall has been the scene this past weekend of the Andalusian Championship Climbing Difficulty, test, in turn, scoring for the Andalusian Cup 2025. Two days of full spectacle in which climbers of all ages have shown their technical evolution and competition. Absolute titles for the Sevillian Álvaro Páez Carabias and the Malaga representative Adél Benus.

Under the organization of the Grupo de Montaña Estepona (GRUME), along with the invaluable collaboration of the Estepona City Council, the championship was open to categories U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, U19 and Absolute, Promotion and Veteran. The categories U15, U17, U19, Absolute, Promotion and Veteran participated in flash and sight, while the U9, U11 and U13 used the climbing mode in Top Rope, to carry out the ascent of the proposed routes.

In the absolute male category, victory and title for Álvaro Páez Carabias, who was accompanied on the podium by Juan Infante Miranda from Malaga and Mario Ruiz Fernández from Granada. In the women's absolute, the victory went to Adél Benus, with Mar Carreño Escobar from Malaga in second place.

In male U19, Dario Garcia Moreno from Malaga won gold, followed by Saul Giraldo Godoy from Huelva and Matias Perez Gonzalez from Malaga; and in female, podium for Sofia Terma Sanchez (Seville), Sira Pelaez Morales (Malaga) and Iris Caplain (Malaga).

In male Veteran, the first three places went to Sergio Serrano Bellido (Jaén), Daniel García Espejo (Málaga) and Rubén Montoro Izquierdo (Málaga); and in Promotion podium for Antonio Manuel Ruz Jiménez (Almería), José Urbano Aguilera (Málaga) and Javier Murillo Cobacho (Córdoba).

Saturday's day was a spectacle, with a very high rate of participation in all the lower categories. The podiums were as follows:


U9 Female: Dunia Montoro Cherraki (Málaga), Ana Coello Baquero (Huelva) and Abril García Moreno (Málaga).

U9 Maculino: Pablo Rodríguez López (Córdoba), Adán Regadera Ocaña (Sevilla) and Izaz+n González Zaragoza (Málaga).

U11 Female: Alba Cortés Morcillo (Almería), Natalia Hernández Carballar (Sevilla) and Daniela García Moreno (Málaga).

U11 Male: Fernando Osuna López (Granada), Pepe Albadalejo Muñoz (Granada) and Ernesto Sánchez Ojeda (Almería).

U13 Female: Silvia Castro Torres (Seville), Natalia Calzado González (Málaga) and Daniela Jódar García (Granada).

U13 Male: Inari Castillo Lopez (Granada), Leo Cabello Lopez (Granada) and Jorge Reyes Haro (Seville).

U15 Women: Pau Nogués Pérez (Valencia, NC), Sofía Enmma Vlaicu Toderescu (Málaga), Alejandra Ríos Guerrero (Málaga) and Lola Navarro Lucena (Córdoba).

U15 Male: Pablo Garrucho Díaz (Seville), David Reyes Haro (Seville) and Abel Acosta Carramolino (Seville).

U17 Female: Africa Piedrola Sanchez (Seville), Ariadna Ortiz Araujo (Seville) and Noa Persson Fernandez (Malaga).

U17 Male: Aitor Amaya López (Seville), Darío Márquez García (Almería) and Lucas Márquez Aparicio (Cádiz).

At the conclusion of each day, the awards and trophies were presented in the presence of the mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano; the president of the Andalusian Federation of Mountain Sports, Climbing and Hiking (FADMES), María Luz Arráez Hidalgo; and the representative of GRUME and responsible for the competition, Francisco Luis Jiménez Rodríguez.
