Concert 'Classical music under the stars' in Cancelada, by the string duo 'ArtNova'.

The free concert will be held on Sunday, September 14, at 9:00 p.m. in the Plaza José Vázquez in the town of Cancelada.

The City Council of Estepona and the García Fajer Foundation will present next Sunday, September 14, at 21:00 pm, in the Plaza José Vázquez de Cancelada, the concert 'Classical music under the stars', by the string duo ArtNova, formed by Desislava Karamfilova, violin, and Stamen Nikolov, cello, who will perform a repertoire consisting of the most famous works of classical music.

Desislava Karamfilova, violin. She was born in Bulgaria, where she began her musical studies at the age of 5. After finishing the Superior and Master Degree at the Bulgarian National Academy "Pancho Vladigerov", she continued her training in Spain. In 2010 she was admitted to the International Institute of Chamber Music "Reina Sofia" in Madrid to study with the prestigious professor Gunter Pichler (member of the Alban Berg Quartet). For this purpose she enjoyed for three years a scholarship from the Albéniz Foundation. During the period of her training Desislava has participated in violin master classes of masters such as Gerard Poulet, Michael Frischenschlager, Erich Hoebarth, Donk-Suk Kang, A. Keller, Kevork Mardiroslan, Frederik Pellas, Takashi Shimizu, Alexander Vinnitzky, Gernot Winischhofer.

He has performed at festivals such as: "Schubertiade-Schwarzenberg" (Austria), Ost-West Musikfest "Internationale Sommermeisterkurse" in St. Pölten (Austria), International Music Festival and Academy "Orpheus" in Vienna, International Summer Academy in Semmering (Austria). He has made recordings for Radio Nacional de España and Radio Nacional de Bulgaria. She has collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as the Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Camerata Orphica. She has toured internationally and has performed in Japan, Argentina, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy among other countries.

Stamen Nikolov, cello. He began his musical studies at the age of 5 at the National School of Music in Rousse-Bulgaria. He continued his studies at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia. Moved to Madrid to study with Gunter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet) at the Queen Sofia International Institute of Music. In 2003 he won the first prize at the International Youth Competition Hopes, Talents, Masters in Dobrich-Albena. In 2004 he won the first prize at the International Cello Competition Svetoslav Obretenov.

Stamen Nikolov develops a prolific international career. He regularly participates in the most prestigious festivals in Europe, such as the Interlaken Classics Festival in Switzerland, "Orpheus" Festival and Academy in Vienna, "Ost-West Musikfest" in St. Polen (Austria), "International Chamber Music Festival "EUART" in Prague (Czech Republic). He also participates in master classes with Robert Cohen, Anton Nicolescu, Ksenya Yankovich, David Quigal, Maria Kligel, Hristo Tanev, Rineke Smilde and Anatoly Krastev, among others.
