Dr. Adela Castañón to sign copies of her novel ‘Dame mi nombre’ at the Estepona Book Fair

It will be next Thursday, August 28, at 21:00 hours. The Summer Book Fair began on July 18 and will remain at the Paseo Marítimo until September 14, from 11:00 to 14:30 and from 19:00 to 24:00 hours, with daily signings of local authors.

The Estepona City Council informs that the author Adela Castañón will sign copies of her novel, “Dame mi nombre”, next Thursday, August 28, at 21:00 hours, in the framework of the XXX Summer Book Fair held at the Paseo Marítimo, organized by the company ‘Urbano Libros’, in collaboration with the Consistory.

Give me my name (Caligrama). Pablo discovers that his father is adopted and that secret prevents him from looking at his family with the same eyes. His attempts to find out more clash with the smokescreen his mother spreads, trapped in an impossible situation between her son and her husband. From that moment on, a chain of events unfolds that will put her family in check and will extend beyond. Because at the other end of the thread is Pablo’s tutor, Veronica, who has a happy life and is unaware that what is about to happen to her student will upset her universe beyond repair. What to do when your memories are based on lies? How far would you be able to go to find your origin? Paternity, maternity, family and love are questioned in this novel in which a double plot will drag you to the confines of the truth and the two sides of the same coin.

Adela Castañón Baquera has a degree in Medicine from the University of Murcia and has loved reading and writing for as long as she can remember. She has lived in several cities in Spain, currently resides in Marbella and is dedicated to her writing, to enjoying her children and family, and to traveling whenever she has the opportunity.

In May 2021 she published her first novel, ‘Dame mi nombre’, with Caligrama publishing house, which she presented at the Madrid Book Fair and in other locations. In November 2023 he published his first collection of poems, ‘El bosque de las luciérnagas’, with Cuadranta publishing house. In February 2025 she published, together with nine other writers, the book of short stories ‘Las diez Camelias Románticas. 7 de septiembre’.

She is co-author of the book “El niño pequeño con autismo”, published by APNA Madrid, and translator of the work “Habla Signada para alumnos no verbales”, by B. Schaeffer and others, published by Alianza Editorial. She has participated as author in more than twenty books by various authors (almost all of short stories and one of poetry), published by Escuela de Escritores, Grupo Editorial 33, Taller de Escritura Creativa de Carmen y Gervasio Posadas, Literautas, Edimsa, Semergen-Pfizer and Delegación de Cultura del Ecxmo. From 2013 he began to combine his work as a family doctor with his dedication to writing. In 2016 he began to publish in the blog Letras desde Mocade (https://letrasdesdemocade.com/) short stories and some articles and poems. For several years he has been part of several communities of writers such as the MAPEA Club, where he shares experiences and learning with other authors, ASEMEYA (Spanish Association of Medical Writers and Artists) and the Malaga Writers Collective.
