“Esencia de Mujer” Women’s Soundtrack Concert at the Orchid Garden Park

The free concert featuring film music performed by women will take place on Thursday, July 23, at 10:00 p.m.

The Estepona City Council announces that the Botanical Garden and Orchidarium will host the free concert “Soundtracks by Women—The Essence of Woman” next Thursday, July 23, at 10:00 p.m.

The concert will span eight decades of film music, featuring songs that have gone down in cinematic history—from 1939’s “Suspiros de España” to 2019’s live-action “Aladdin,” including the 1950s with Marilyn Monroe, the ’60s with Marisol, the ’70s with Barbra Streisand, and the ’90s with Whitney Houston.

These songs will come to life through local artists, such as the Estepona-based flamenco singer and actress Ana Fargas, accompanied on guitar by Francisco Javier Jimeno; the Málaga-based singer-songwriter Virginia Alexandre; actress, singer, and dancer Juana Escribano, Estepona-based actress Candela Vergara, and Marbella-based singer La Negra Mayté.

In addition, the show will feature a performance by the “Ocean Danza y Acrobacia” School, directed by Laura and Sara Perea.

Attendees will receive a free copy of the album “Esencia de Mujer,” released last year by the Unicornio Cultural Association, while supplies last.
