Estepona is joining the European Archaeology Days with free guided tours to explore the city’s historical heritage
The City Council and the Regional Ministry of Culture of the Andalusian Regional Government have organized tours of the Historic District and the Corominas Dolmens for this weekend, open to the general public with prior registration
This coming weekend, the Estepona City Council will join in the celebration of European Archaeology Days by organizing guided tours to showcase some of the city’s most historically significant sites.
The City Council and the Department of Culture and Sports of the Regional Government of Andalusia have organized a series of tours through the Historic District and the Corominas Dolmens for Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14. These tours are free and open to the general public, upon prior registration.
A guided archaeological tour of Estepona’s historic district is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, including San Luis Castle and the Roman Tower on Villa Street. It will depart at 10:00 a.m. from Plaza Blas Infante, and those interested can register for free by sending an email to patrimoniovivomalaga@gmail.com.
On Sunday the 14th, the activity will focus on a guided tour of the Corominas Dolmens, five prehistoric burial monuments unique to Andalusia. The tour will depart at 11:00 a.m. from Parque de los Pedregales, and those interested must make a reservation in advance by sending an email to patrimoniovivomalaga@gmail.com.
European Archaeology Days is an initiative aimed at bringing archaeology closer to the public, promoting knowledge and participation regarding archaeological heritage, and highlighting its importance as a cultural, social, and economic resource.
