In October, the City Council will start a philosophical reading and conversation club in the 'María Zambrano' room of the Municipal Library.

The initiative seeks to promote critical thinking and dialogue in modern times. The monthly group will begin its activity on October 1, at 6:00 p.m., with a historical tour of philosophy, led by the expert Anthony Carroll.
The City Council of Estepona reports the start of a reading and conversation club dedicated to philosophy in the Municipal Library, located in the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.
This initiative, whose meetings will be held monthly, seeks to encourage critical thinking and dialogue on the great ideas of history, a vital need today.
In an environment saturated with information and constant change, philosophy provides us with the tools to navigate this complex landscape, helping us to understand not only the world around us, but also ourselves. Philosophy teaches us to ask fundamental questions about existence, morality, truth and knowledge. A space like this allows us to slow down the pace and examine ideas closely and rigorously, fostering empathy and understanding by exploring different perspectives and systems of thought.
The reading and conversation group will be led by Tony Carroll, author of the book 'A History of Philosophy', in which he offers a clear and succinct analysis of major events and texts in philosophy, exploring the fundamental principles and ideals that drove the development of Western thought.
The first session, to be held on Tuesday, October 1 at 6:00 pm, in the Maria Zambrano Hall, will offer a general overview of the history of philosophy, from Greek thinkers to the present day.
The Councilor for Culture, Macarena Diánez, invites all interested persons to join this group, for which no previous knowledge is required; "the only thing you need is curiosity and willingness to learn," she says.
Interested people can register by e-mail at biblioteca@estepona.es.
While pre-registration helps with organization and ensures availability, the essence of this club is open participation and the desire to explore together the vast and fascinating world of philosophy.
