La Casa de Las Tejerinas will host the exhibition “Contrastes” by artist Fernando López Lorrio

The exhibition will be open to the public from June 18 to July 1

The Estepona City Council announces that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in Plaza de las Flores, will host the painting exhibition “Contrastes” by Madrid-based artist Fernando López Lorrio, beginning on June 18.

In this exhibition, the language of line and volume (geometric abstraction) engages in a dialogue with the expression of deep emotions and the subconscious (abstract expressionism).

Through abstraction, the exhibition evolves from form, space, and materials, moving away from traditional figuration.

Following a family tradition, Fernando López Lorrio began his artistic career in 1996 as a self-taught artist. He has taken painting classes at the Art Studio of the University of Alcalá de Henares and completed the course “In the Studio: Postwar Abstract Painting” at MoMA in New York. He has studied various artistic movements, focusing on Abstract Expressionism and Constructivism, incorporating volumes with material and transforming the practice of collage into an experimental laboratory where, using tools and materials other than brushes and pigments, he has developed a pure painting without paint, seeking a path toward abstraction through expression. Her work is inspired by literature, travel books, and real or imaginary cities and landscapes, which have inspired images of unreachable places.

The exhibition will be open until July 1, Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.
