Mayor holds a working meeting with the Consul of Paraguay

During the meeting, actions have been planned to contribute to a greater participation of the Paraguayan community in Estepona.
The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, has held a working meeting with the Consul General of the Republic of Paraguay in Malaga, María Soledad Saldívar, with the aim of establishing initiatives that continue to promote the participation of the Paraguayan community in the city. The meeting was also attended by the First Secretary of the Consulate of Paraguay, Juan Manuel Mongelós, and Jacinta Mercado, representative of the Paraguayan community in Estepona.
The councilman explained that, at present, in Estepona reside around a thousand Paraguayan citizens, so they will continue to promote projects that promote their culture, cuisine and music. In this regard, he noted that 130 nationalities live in the municipality and that the City Council provides ongoing support to ensure cultural exchange.
In the case of Paraguay, the Consistory and the Consulate have advanced that it will work on holding a conference of legal and labor advice focused on providing information of interest to the Paraguayan community.
José María García Urbano has stressed that Estepona is an example of harmony between different cultures and nationalities, and has advanced that the City Council will continue to organize activities and events that continue to ensure an exemplary coexistence.
